CONTACT May is Mental Health Month. Get involved! - Dr. Christian Thurstone

It’s Mental Health Month. Since 1949, organizations across the United States have promoted mental health awareness in May by reaching millions of people through health screenings, local events and media. There are a lot of ways you can make a big impact by spending just a little of your time.

Check out this great video of five easy ideas from Mental Health America (MHA), a nonprofit established in 1909 to address the needs of people living with mental illness and to promote overall mental health.

To observe Mental Health Month 2017, the MHA has produced a series of online resources it calls “Risky Business.” As the organization states: “We believe it’s important to educate people about habits and behaviors that increase the risk of developing or exacerbating mental illnesses, or could be signs of mental health problems themselves.”
